Topaz AuditionTo audition for Topaz, you must sing from memory:
This will be a recorded audition that is done with your private voice teacher, middle school choir teacher, or Mrs. Burd and submitted at the end of your audition form. Wondrous Love - Solo Audition
Scales & TriadsTeacher Recommendation FormTwo recommendation forms should be received prior to the audition date. Teachers may fill out the recommendation form online! Let Mrs. Burd know if you need a physical copy.

Student Audition Form
The form below should be completed prior to your audition! (Students auditioning for Topaz/CR5 do not need to fill this out twice).
Teacher Recommendation Form
Two recommendation forms should be received prior to the audition date. Teachers may fill out the recommendation form online! Let Mrs. Burd know if you need a physical copy. (Students auditioning for Topaz/CR5 do not need to get more than two).
Individual Jazz Audition
To audition for Jazz Choir, you will sing:
- "Summertime" with accompaniment track (see music below)
- Three of the following scales (you choose):
- Blues Scale
- Dorian Scale
- Chromatic Scale
- Major Scale

The audition for 5130 will mirror that of All State Jazz.
Step 1:
Record a video of yourself singing the individual jazz audition above. Remember you can do it as many times as you like in order to submit your best work!

Prompt:
- Speak "Hello, my name is _______ and I will be auditioning for 5130." First I will be singing "Summertime."
- Play the accompaniment track in the background and sing along with it. You will sing verse 1 and then scat when that is complete (listen to accompaniment track with vocal part as an example). Remember, there is no wrong scatting, so have fun and be creative!
- Speak "The first scale I will sing is ___________ starting on _______."
- Play your starting pitch (that you indicated in # 3) and sing your scale.
- Speak "The second scale I will sing is ___________ starting on _______."
- Play your starting pitch (that you indicated in #5) and sing your scale.
- Speak "The third scale I will sing is ___________ starting on _______."
- Play your starting pitch (that you indicated in #7) and sing your scale.
- End the video and email it to Mrs. Burd or share it via google drive! Please label it with your name. THE DEADLINE TO SUMBIT IS 11:59PM on 1/27/23!
